Scouting for Food -2021

Food Donations Wanted!

Crew 128 is Venturing for Vittles once again! Last year we collected 2,100 lbs (see the story) with the support of our partners from Boys Troop 128, Girls Troop 128, and Cub Scout Pack 665. Will you help make our 2021 even bigger?!

Here are the collection details:

Date: Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Time: 9 AM to 1 PM

Where: St. Johns Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101

All donations will support our hometown food bank, SHARE of McLean. We will observe social distancing and use masks. See what SHARE needs most.

How YOU can help us:

There are two great ways you can help:

We need boxes:

Last year we had a large donation of moving boxes (see picture) that we used to consolidate and organize the food donations into categories (pasta, canned veggies, baking, etc.). If you can donate medium size boxes (like copy paper size) please send us an email at BOXES@CREW128.ORG.

Collect food to donate:

Of course we want your donation, but make it BIG. Collect from your family, neighbors, and friends before December 11th and then bring a BIG LOAD to our collection point. We collected over a ton last year; can we make it TWO TONS this year?

Social Distancing Drop-off Process

Our Venturing for Vittles drop-off process helps maintain social distancing and minimizes personal contact. Donors can drive up to our collection tent and place the donations on a table. We will waive, give you a big smile behind our masks, and thank you profusely!
